We are in an era in which juvenile crime, homelessness, and the need for elderly care is on the rise. An estimated 60% of children in the United States were exposed to violence, crime, or abuse in the homes, schools, and community within the past year. Approximately 46% were assaulted at least once in the past year and 10% were injured in an assault (Crime Solutions.gov/National Institute of Justice).
Not only is juvenile crime on the rise but so is the vast number of Veteran’s and Elderly that are exposed to neglect and homeliness. There are several reasons for such a decline, such as mental illness, lack of family support, and community services. The need to control juvenile crime and homeliness in the North Carolina area relies on several factors; education, community supports, and therapeutic counseling.
